Les Suchots, a Premier Cru representing the village of Vosne-Romanée. From this prestigious vineyard adjacent to Romanée-Conti and Richebourg, a supple and elegant Pinot Noir is born. The producer is Dominique Laurent, a négociant with an unusual background as a former pastry chef. He is known for his unique method of using carefully selected new oak barrels from his own cooperage and bottling without filtration. The 2015 vintage, blessed with a bountiful harvest and optimal ripeness, has achieved both dense fruit flavors and a strong structure.

Tasting Notes

The appearance is a deep ruby color, with a subtle purple shimmer at the rim. The aroma of black cherry and cassis is layered with spices from roasted oak and sweet vanilla nuances, with a hint of elegant floral notes like peonies in the background. On the palate, concentrated fruit flavors unfold, blending with toasted new oak nuances and silky tannins. The acidity, typical of 2015, is mellow, and the finish is long, with pleasant lingering flavors of spice and dark fruits. While enjoyable now due to its solid structure, aging in the cellar for another 5 to 10 years will allow the oak aromas and fruit flavors to integrate further, highlighting the elegance characteristic of Vosne-Romanée. The estimated drinking window is from around 2027 to 2035.
