This is an exquisitely refined wine from a producer who represents the pinnacle of white Burgundy. The fruit from the prestigious vineyards of the Côte de Beaune delivers rich aromas reminiscent of white peach, pear, and hazelnut, with flinty minerality adding tension. Despite its rich concentration, it never feels heavy, and its supple acidity permeates the entire wine, leading to an astonishingly long and pure finish. The oak is restrained, serving as a supporting actor that highlights the fruit and terroir. This particular parcel, known for its exceptional elegance and nobility among the village vineyards of Meursault, yields a graceful and profound flavor. It is a masterpiece that rewards both immediate enjoyment and patient aging.

Tasting Comments

Tasting Notes
Brilliant lemon yellow.
The captivating aroma of citrus fruits and a hint of dried pineapple develops into notes of resin and beeswax as it breathes.
The crisp fruitiness of lemon and lime intertwines with the complexity and minerality from the lees and a hint of mint, creating a medium-bodied style with sharp acidity and a saline quality.
The acidity is ample, and the finish is surprisingly long and expansive.
The finish has the refreshing quality of lemon sorbet, resulting in a Chablis with tension and elegance. It is lean and muscular, with a more structural character than Lafon's Charmes.

Pairing
Tilefish with Crispy Scales
Roasted Chicken or Duckling
Sautéed Scallops or Prawns

Technical Data

From 55-60 year old vines. Located in a parcel once tended by Lafon (above Charmes, below Perrières)

Made from very old vines, with 2-3% Chardonnay Musqué blended in to enhance complexity.

Fermented with 100% native yeasts in barrel. Regardless of whether the plot was inherited, purchased, or leased, harvesting is meticulously carried out at the peak of ripeness.

Pressed at a higher pressure than usual, imparting texture and aging potential through natural phenols.

No bâtonnage is performed to prevent premature oxidation, and a cool cellar is maintained to encourage malolactic fermentation. Large barrels are used to minimize oak influence, prioritizing balance and elegance. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, and sealed with wax over natural cork.
