Thierry Allemand is the solitary grower who made the name of Cornas in the northern Rhône known worldwide, tending just about 5 ha of vines by hand, plot by plot. Production is tiny, and his wines are fiercely sought after by enthusiasts around the world. Vinification uses whole clusters with stems retained and manual pigeage. Each plot is aged separately in large casks and barrels for around 24 months before blending. “Chaillot” is made from relatively young vines of around 40 years and, alongside Reynard, is one of the domaine’s two pillars. Compared with Reynard, it shows brighter, suppler fruit. 2012 is a well-balanced vintage that clearly expresses the grower’s pure style. After more than 10 years of ageing, it is reaching its peak.
Tasting Notes
Garnet with a slight tinge of age at the rim. Blackberry and plum fruit blend with mature aromas of leather, black olive, violet, dried herbs and forest floor. The tannins have rounded with age, and within the supple texture, whole-cluster spice and granite minerality add a pleasing tension. A long, savoury finish.
Drinking Window
Drinking well from now until around 2030. There may be sediment, so stand the bottle upright for a day and decant gently.

- Corks may be fragile, so please take care when opening.

Conditions and time limits
Because these are beverages, we are generally unable to accept returns or exchanges for reasons of personal preference. Please order with care.
Even with chilled delivery, a rapid change in temperature can cause slight seepage. This does not affect the quality of the wine, and we are unable to offer an exchange or refund in such cases. Every bottle is visually checked before packing.
Where the fault is ours, returns and exchanges are accepted within 7 days of delivery.
We are unable to help after that period, so thank you for your understanding.
Return postage
Where the fault is ours — a faulty bottle or the wrong item — we cover the cost of return. Returns and exchanges for reasons of personal preference are not accepted.
Faulty items
If anything arrives faulty, we will replace it with a new bottle or an equivalent, subject to availability.

Refunds for events
Full refund
If an event is cancelled by the organiser, or cannot be held because of a natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstance, we refund in full.
No refund
For cancellations by the customer, we refund in full up to 3 days before the event; after that, no refund is available.
