Domaine Sauzet (Etienne Sauzet) is a prestigious estate representing Puligny-Montrachet. Since 2006, they have practiced organic farming, and since 2010, biodynamic farming, producing exquisite white wines. "Combettes" is a Premier Cru vineyard located at the northernmost end of Puligny, bordering Meursault, on a southeast-facing slope at an altitude of 230-320m. It combines the sharpness of Puligny with the richness of Meursault. 2019 is an excellent vintage with a great balance of concentration and acidity.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant pale gold. Complex aroma of green apple, white peach, white flowers with a hint of roast. On the palate, a firm acidity and minerality form the core, followed by rich fruit flavors and a creamy texture in the mid-palate. The finish is long, with a pleasant lingering salty mineral note. It has a firm structure, suggesting the potential for aging for more than 5 years.

Viticulture and Vinification
- The domaine was established in the early 1900s by Etienne Sauzet (1903-1975), who consolidated the vineyards.
- In 1974, Gérard Boudot married Janine, the founder's granddaughter, and took over management from 1975.
- Due to inheritance division in 1991, Jean-Marc Boillot separated one-third of the vineyards, reducing the owned area from approximately 12ha to 9ha. Since then, a négociant division has also been developed.
- Currently managed by 4th generation Émilie Boudot and Benoît Riffault.
- Organic farming has been practiced since 2006, and biodynamic farming since 2010.
- After gentle pressing, Premier Cru/Grand Cru wines are aged in oak barrels with a new oak ratio of approximately 20-40%.
- Aged on lees for 10-12 months.
- Combettes is a 6.7ha Premier Cru vineyard, bordered by Champ Canet to the north and Les Referts to the south, and Meursault to the north.
