This natural wine is a true gem, grown on the chalky soils of the village of Puysgaing on Bordeaux's right bank. It's owned by the same owners as Château Le Puy and is farmed biodynamically. This Merlot-dominated blend offers a fresh attack and elegant flavor, making it an excellent food-friendly companion. 2016 was considered a stellar vintage for Bordeaux overall, and this wine benefits from that.

Tasting Comments

Tasting Notes
The color is garnet with a slight brownish sheen. The aroma is a harmonious blend of ripe blackberry, cherry, and cassis nuances with the scent of dried rose and violet flowers, and also features complex aromas of undergrowth, forest soil, and leather. On the palate, the initial impression is silky and fresh, with firm tannins in the medium body that form the overall structure. Overall, the wine is clear, juicy, and has a ripe, silky acidity that leaves a pleasant lingering finish.

Pairing
Braised beef cheek in red wine, porcini mushroom and truffle risotto, roast lamb with herbs
