[Ribera del Duero's innovation and excellence born from visionary thinking]
Teófilo Reyes was a visionary and the region's greatest voice. He was all about quality and excellence. More than 40 years passed between 1950, when he founded the first modern winery in La Horra (Valladolid) in collaboration with 18 associated farmers, and the time when he completed his work in his own cellar, searching for the best wines that Ribera del Duero has to offer.
What started small has now grown into a 3,000m² winery in the heart of Ribera del Duero, and has now expanded to 4,000m².
In recent years, the Teofilo Reyes project has been supported by the Zuazo Gaston family, who have contributed to bringing their decades of experience to bear on other great wine-producing regions. To be successful, Teofilo Reyes has reduced yields and implemented strict selection procedures both in the vineyard and in the winery.
