Bodegas Teófilo Reyes
[Vision, innovation and excellence in Ribera del Duero]
Teófilo Reyes was a man who saw the future of his region before anyone else, and who became its finest interpreter. He staked everything on quality and excellence. More than forty years separate 1950, when he founded the first modern winery in La Horra (Valladolid) together with eighteen associated growers, from the moment he completed his life's work in a cellar of his own, in pursuit of the very best that Ribera del Duero can give.
What began as a small project is today a 3,000-square-metre winery in the heart of Ribera del Duero, since extended to 4,000 square metres.
In recent years the Zuazo Gastón family have lent their support to the Teófilo Reyes project, helping to carry decades of accumulated experience into other great winegrowing regions. Success here rests on restraint: lower yields in the vineyard and rigorous selection, both among the vines and in the winery.
