[Reflecting the terroir, a crystallization of elegance and passion]
Xavier Broges founded Domaine Terrasses Déries in 1998, initially on just 0.5 hectares in the exceptional terroir of Aniane, and has since expanded to approximately 10 hectares, planted with Carignan, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault grapes.
With hard work and passion, we have put in place all the elements necessary to create authentic wines true to the terroir. All Terrasses d'Elysées cuvées are made from hand-picked grapes, resulting in very low yields of just 20-25 hl/ha, with very concentrated grapes, and with as little human intervention as possible in the cellar.
These wines are known for their exceptional finesse, elegance, smoothness, freshness, consistency and aromatic richness, and although all are labeled IGP Hérault, they assert the identity of their terroirs, some with characteristics that highlight the inherent qualities of their individual varieties.
If we feel that a wine is not yet suitable for drinking in its youth, we are happy to age it, sometimes for several years, until it is ready to be released as a fine wine.
To achieve refined tannins, the wines are aged in old barrels or stainless steel tanks. Xavier's wines are captivating, with their supple fruit and rich, clean flavors that fill the mouth. Although not certified, the winery practices organic and biodynamic farming.
