Château Moulin Bellegrave

Château Moulin Bellegrave lies in Saint-Émilion, on the highest ground of Vignonet, above the Dordogne. The place bears a name that speaks of a viticultural past reaching far back in time, and the estate sits on beautiful gravelly slopes. The château took its name from that very terroir, a reflection of the traditions of this land.

Run for several generations by one passionate family, the property is planted to Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, with an average vine age today of 45 years.

Owner and winemaker Antoine Mabilleau farms plot by plot, sowing grass between alternate rows and working the soil shallowly to keep it aerated. Yields are held down and picking is late; a slow fermentation and twelve months in barrel bring balance, complexity and harmony before the final blend of this splendid Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is assembled.
