Azienda Agricola Carla Vittoria
[A small Franciacorta producer following its own path]
Filippo Bianchi's Carla Vittoria is based at Erbusco, in Franciacorta. The first vines went into the ground in 2007 and the winery itself was completed in 2010. The estate holds four hectares of vineyard on the Monterotondo hill at Provaglio d'Iseo, planted to the three Franciacorta grapes: Pinot Bianco, Pinot Nero and Chardonnay.
The wines are made in stainless steel tanks and in barriques, then aged for several years. What this yields is reserve wine, later blended with the current vintage to build a distinctive assemblage before the second fermentation. Total production comes to 5,000 bottles of a single wine, a Franciacorta Brut.
The cuvée is always drawn from several vintages, combining Chardonnay and Pinot Nero, and spends a minimum of three years ageing in bottle.
