Sancerre Champ de l'Orme 2020 Domaine Pierre Morin

Sancerre - Chant de l'Orme 2020

Tasting note

When poured into a glass, the pale gold color shines and a depth that suggests a hint of aging emerges. The aroma is of ripe yellow peach, white flowers, pear, and a delicate minerality derived from the Cayot soil. Over time, notes of anise, honey and a slight smoky note emerge, adding depth to the finish. On the palate, the wine is impressively well-structured and full-bodied, with a concentrated and complex flavor that comes from the 55-year-old vines. The smooth acidity tightens the wine, and the minerality from the limestone terroir continues beautifully to the aftertaste. The aftertaste is long, with citrus peel and flint-like flavors remaining pleasantly on the tongue. It gives the impression of having the potential to expand even further with age.
