Château Mouton Rothschild [Magnum] 2005 Pauillac

Château Mouton Rothschild Pauillac Magnum 2005

Tasting note

Deep garnet to inky purple. The nose offers rich black fruits such as cassis, blackberry and plum, along with cedar, pencil grains, toasted oak, vanilla, mint, clove, ink and a hint of smoke/asphalt. In the mouth, the wine impresses with concentrated fruitiness, supple yet firm grain-like tannins, crisp acidity, and a mineral-like finish. It has a powerfully structured structure, yet is also elegant, and maintains excellent balance, making it suitable for long-term aging. The finish is very long, with fruit, spice and minerals slowly fading away, truly reminiscent of a great vintage of Pauillac.

Food pairing

Roast veal with poivrade sauce Venison steak in a rich red wine sauce A French classic with truffle-infused foie gras
