Rioja - Artuke Tinto

Winemaking & technical data

Cultivation

Baños de Ebro is made from grapes from different plots. This allows it to express all the characteristics of the village, just like French village wines. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 420-480m. The clay-limestone soil, combined with the continental climate of Baños de Ebro, provides the perfect environment for the vines to ripen slowly.

brewing

Carbonic maceration is carried out, a traditional method for Rioja Alavesa. The grapes are fermented whole, without being destemmed, preserving the vegetal components. The bunches are placed in fermentation tanks filled to the top to limit contact with oxygen, and fermentation begins intracellularly, i.e. inside the grapes. This results in a wine that is very fresh, fruity, with a clear color and without too much alcohol.
