Ars Magna Merlot 2018 Omina Romana

Ars Magna Merlot 2018

Tasting note

When poured into a glass, the deep ruby red color quietly shines with a slight hint of garnet on the rim. The aroma is layered from the start, with ripe black cherry and plum fruit intertwined with violets, licorice, cedarwood, cocoa, truffle, and volcanic minerals reminiscent of dry earth. The more it comes into contact with air, the more complex shades of pipe tobacco, mocha, black pepper, and balsamic emerge. Power and precision coexist in the mouth. Supple fruitiness envelops the rich tannins, while the richness of the glycerin and the sustained acidity beautifully support the whole. The finish is long, with hints of spice and chocolate slowly lingering. This is a magnificent bottle that has the potential to become even more rounded and deep with age.

Food pairing

Roasted lamb with rosemary and olives Beef cheek stewed in red wine Assorted mature cheese and dark chocolate
