Barolo 2021 Poderi Gianni Gagliardo

red

Winemaking & technical data

Cultivation
La Morra, Monforte d'Alba, Serralunga d'Alba, Barolo and Verduno
This wine is made from a blend of eight plots across five villages.

Vinification
Generally, each vineyard is vinified separately and then blended after vinification. Exceptionally, in years when perfect ripeness is achieved simultaneously in multiple plots, the grapes are blended at harvest time. This is a very traditional approach, allowing each vineyard to play its own individual character like an instrument in an orchestra, resulting in an elegant, complex and, in this cuvée, particularly "approachable" style.

Historically, La Morra grapes have dominated the blend, but they are never used alone: each village complements the other, allowing the individuality of this great terroir to emerge more clearly.
