2005年は冬こそ冷涼でしたが、その後は理想的な春と乾燥した夏に恵まれ、完璧に近い成熟を達成した年です。シャトー自身も「真の偉大なヴィンテージ」と位置づけ、凝縮感は2000年や2003年を上回ると評価しています。五大シャトーのなかでも優雅さの象徴とされるマルゴーらしく、カシスやスミレ、杉、葉巻箱、スパイスが織りなす華麗なアロマとシルクのような口当たり。牛フィレ肉のロッシーニとともに、特別な一夜に。

2005 is known as one of Bordeaux's greatest vintages ever. After a cool winter, the region was blessed with an ideal spring and dry summer, leading to near-perfect ripeness. The château itself positions it as a "truly great vintage," judging its concentration to surpass even that of 2000 and 2003.
